..Vending Machines and JW Assemblies..

.."out of order"..no vending machine is complete at a jw assembly,without an "out of order" sign on it.....of course it`s not true..the machine works fine..it`s just one of the many lies jw`s are willing to accept from the wbt$.....although..this lie is extremely large and visible,it`s a frigg`n vending machine!..lol!

!.............does the management that rents the facilities to the wbt$,know the wbt$ is disabling them?....does the owners of the vending machines know the wbt$ is disabling them,and interfering with their right to do business in that facility?......could the wbt$ be sued for loss of vending machine business?.......wouldn`t it be fun to let the vending machine owners know their machines are being disabled,at jehovah`s witness assemblies?......it would mean more bad publicity for the wbt$ for lying and court cases they couldn`t win...................outlaw

I thought JW's could not be in any type of law enforcement? Last I heard "guard" does relate to law... (enforcing laws, private or not) regardless of how we look at it. lol

over the past few months, i have been researching the wt society's doctrines and history.

in doing so, i have tried to use as little so-called "apostate" material as possible.

this is because (as we are all aware) witnesses are taught to fear apostate literature, and if i ever hope to enlighten any of my loved ones, i am not going to be able to do so by waving a copy of coc in their faces.

You're doing exactly what I've been wanting to do. I just don't know where to start! How would a JW know if information is apostate or not? Most of the time people do not want to look at anything except those awake and WT magazines!

I'm going to check back often to get ideas! I know what you mean about throwing a CoC in their face. I know (or have a great feeling) that they would not like or even look at ideas coming from that book. I'll be discret on that. If I am able to piece things together that is.

As for those transcripts mentioned, what's the deal with those and would JW's take a look at that and not see it as apostate information?

Crisis of Consciousness: Finally Got It

oops, well i had intended to post a message along with this new topic and my fingers were faster than my brain (need more coffee .

well, i suppose it's like preaching to the converted; me obtaining this book, but i guess it's one of those things i just needed to do to finalize everything.. i know there are countless topics on ray franz' book.

but to finally pick it up, i feel like: 'i can hardly wait to read it'.. before, i more or less figured: 'i am out of the wtbts, so why bother?'.

I still have not made it through yet. From what I have so far it has been interesting. I'm afraid (what for?) that I'll be 'caught' by one of my friends or family in the religion. I think I am afraid for what they will think of me for having it, let alone reading it. How would I explain my reason for it?

Trying to prove them wrong? No, not at all. It's more for proving myself right for not believing what they do.

Has anyone actually used this book to witness to their loved ones of the lies the religion holds? If so, where you sucessful?

Why Aren't There Windows in the Newer Kingdom Halls?

i've driven by several newer kh's in the past few years and noticed that none of them have even so much as one window.

just double doors on the front (with no windows) and a solid door on the back.

what's up with that?

No windows.. means no jobs. Take away the windows; what's a window washer to do then?

I grew up watching the smurfs. I never thought they were bad.

Why are JW's taught that they are bad? was it because of there being only one girl and all the boys?

Ps.. please no one post that smurf "bad" video. Seen it already. lol

Question though, did they already announce at the KH that JW's are not supposed to watch this new movie?

Which bible translation do you prefer?

i have decided to buy myself a bible.. i have a new world translation but the large print version, so i tend not to use it.

after reading crisis of conscience i have decided to discard this translation anyway, but at a loss as to what translation to use.

i also have a few old king james bibles but the language is unreadable to me.

I like KJV and Nkjv (for easier read) NIV I try to avoid, but I have read it but I feel very uncomfortable reading it for some reason.

hi.

does anyone know if there is a single place that list all the current beliefs and teachings of the jw's.

i like to have something i can compare history with to have something to fall back on to show people changes in the belief that they are being taught.

Speaking of most current teachings...
I've been told by multiple elders that if you know the society teaches something incorrect and can prove it biblicly, you are still supposed to not only go along with what they say, but teach this incorrect truth and that you should wait for the "new light" to come out... I've told this to my husband... He didn't believe me.
Does anybody know where or if the society outright states this???

that is interesting. Why would they want to teach lies.. oh wait that is what they do best. Seriously though, Elders told you that if you can prove it against the bible you still have to go with the flow and wait for the flickering light again?
